90s was the time of rock music. Few bands built a huge number of loyal followers and others were considered as the worst bands of the 90s. Much of the music that came out in the 90s still has the power to influence listener today nearly 20 years later. It created strong social effects on many aspects, especially on fashion. Nowadays people still try to copycat the style of rock stars from the 90s by wearing skull rings, skull bracelets, leather boots

The 90s has gifted us bands that started out as a rock band, and also with so many Garbage bands as well. The bands like Shirley Manson and the gang has surely produced some quality music of the decade. But it is not enough to distract us from the mess produced by the bands like Bush and Hootie and the Blowfish. 

Although these bands are not favored by everyone around the world, they still sell a fair amount of concert tickets. When they tour a place, they practically print money. However, here is a list of 10 voted worst bands of the 90s of all time

The band Bowling for Soup is an American rock band that has been iconic about their style.  It was formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The band released its debut EP in 1988. The band includes Jaret Reddick the lead of vocals and guitar, Chris Burney, Erik Chandler and the drummer Gary Wiseman. They featured memorable songs like "Ass Man," "Ack!!!" and "Corndog.”

“Let's Do It for Johnny” is the most famous debut of Bowling for Soup and it was released on jive in 2000. This album consists of the re-recordings of the group's earlier tracks along with a few new tracks and a cover of Bryan Adams' track "Summer of '69"

The bowling for soup is best known for its singles like "Girl All the Bad Guys Want", "1985", "Almost", and "High School Never Ends". 

2. Alien Ant Farm debut its album in 1999

In 1996, the American rock band Alien Ant Farm was formed in Riverside, California, United States. The band did a Michael Jacksons track "Smooth Criminal" cover, which was a top song on Billboard in 2001. 

Alien Ant Farm released its debut album in 1999, titled it Greatest Hits that featured a first version of "Smooth Criminal". It won the Best Independent Album in the L.A. Music Awards in the year 2001. 

3. Leftover Salmon

In 1989, when the members of the Salmon Heads combined with members of the Left Hand String Band to play in a New Year show in 1989, the band Leftover Salmon formed. 

In 1993 the band released Bridges to Bert. They gained a spot on the H.O.R.D.E. festival and a contract with Hollywood Records. They have released four albums with the Disney.

4. Butt Trumpet

It is an American Los Angeles based punk project band. It was founded and maintained by Thom Bone. The band is known for its tactless lyrics and punk style. The group consists of two bassists as members.

In 1994 with their debut track Chrysalis, Primitive Enema, this was banned from sale in a Massachusetts. A mother of a 12-year-old daughter called it "audio porn" when she found daughter listening to it. The band became famous after this ban.

In 1998 their group members regrouped as Betty Blowtorch. Thom's bone continued to release and group with various other unstable bands up till now.

5. Hanson


It is pretty obvious how much people do resent Hanson and is classified as one of the worst bands of 90’s. Many people hated the band, and the feeling of resentment still lingers today. The Hanson band is an American pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, the United States, formed by three brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac. Other Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins and Andrew Perusi.

The Hanson band is best known for their 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their debut album released through Mercury, Polygram, Middle of Nowhere. The album has earned three Grammy nominations. There was enormous commercial success of Middle of Nowhere, the band suffered from the fusions that eliminated their label, Mercury Records.

The bother wrote their own songs and they also looked like girls and “MMMBOp” became very after hearing it for millions of time. Many people started to hate them, and the hate still lingers to this day. The band is still surviving, with some original obsessed fans and they still make a healthy living. 

6. Porno for Pyros

American alternative rock band Porno for Pyros band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1992. It formed after the break-up of Jane's Addiction. The band consists of Jane's Addiction band members Perry Farrell and Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefano and Martyn LeNoble. 

The Porno for Pyros band released two studio albums, Porno for Pyros (1993) and Good God's Urge (1996). The band split in 1998. 

7.  Hootie and the Blowfis

Hootie and the BlowfishBy 1994 the country was divided, you were either on team Bill or the team Newt Gingrich. As people were moving apart, then Hootie and Blowfish helped them to come together. It was something people from every age bracket could appreciate.

The American rock band Hootie & the Blowfish was formed in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1986. The bands consist of Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld.

In July 2010, the band charted sixteen singles on a billboard for single albums. Cracked Rear View (1994) is their debut album and it is 19th-best-selling album of all time in the United States and was certified platinum 21 times. They have sold over 21 million copies of their albums in the United States alone. The group was also famous in Canada. 

8. The Raconteurs

The Raconteurs band was formed in the late aught. The band consists of Jack White and some other members. They were friends and call themselves "a new band made from old friends," but it is more perfect to call them "slumming dudes attempting to become famous with their boring and awful music.

9. Snot

The American metal band Snot, from Santa Barbara California, was formed in 1996. In 1997 Snot released their only studio album. In 2008, the band once again lined up with the guitarists Mikey Doling and Sonny Mayo, bassist John Fahnestock and drummer Jamie Miller reunited.

In 2009 they formed a new band with Brandon Espinoza as the vocalist. In the year 2014 Snot has reformed once again.

10. Bush


Imagine how upsetting the grunge revolution must have been due to the rise of this new generation of rock bands that sold millions of tickets. By 1994 Bush had already earned popularity. The English rock band Bush was formed in London, England in 1992 that had a great rock and roll style. Their current band members consist of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Gavin Rossdale, drummer Robin Goodridge, lead guitarist Chris Traynor, and bassist Corey Britz.

In 1994, the band got an immediate success with the release of their debut album, Sixteen Stone. The Bush band was the most commercially successful rock bands of the 1990s, for selling over 10 million records in the United States alone and 20 million in the worldwide.
